Hama Network Cable CAT-8 40 GBIT/s S/FTP Afgeschermd 5 M

Hama CAT-8 Network Cable 40 Gbit/s S/FTP Shielded 5 m | A fast wired network connection

Wireless connections can be awkward when a device needs a steady wired link, or when the router and device aren’t close together. This Hama CAT-8 network cable gives you a 5-metre cable run, with a stated speed of 40 Gbit/s and S/FTP shielding. It’s suited to a wired network setup where you want to connect equipment directly rather than rely on a wireless signal. The black cable is a practical length for many desk and room layouts, while still leaving some room to route it neatly. One straightforward point: five metres is useful reach, but it’s worth thinking through the cable path before you connect everything. At Renz, we’d look at this model when the priority is a shielded CAT-8 cable with a clearly stated speed and length.

Planning the cable run

Before you set up, decide where the cable needs to go and how much slack you want at each end. A direct route keeps things simple; a route around furniture or along a wall may need more of the available length. Keep the cable path clear of places where it could be regularly pulled, trapped or stepped on. Those small details make a wired setup easier to live with day to day. This is a cable for connecting network equipment; it won’t remove the need to plan where that connection should run. If you’re replacing an existing cable, comparing the route and the required reach is a sensible first step.
