Ilford Galerie Smooth Cotton Sprite 280gsm 44" 1118x15000mm

Ilford Galerie Smooth Cotton Sprite 280gsm 44" 1118x15000mm | A wide roll for large-format work

Loose sheets make large prints awkward to plan; this Ilford Galerie Smooth Cotton Sprite comes as a wide roll instead. It’s a 280gsm paper roll, measuring 44 inches (1118mm) across and 15,000mm long. That format suits photographers and printmakers who need a continuous length of paper for their work, rather than a pack of pre-cut sheets. The name also tells you what to expect from the surface: Smooth Cotton Sprite. If you’re matching paper to a particular printer or process, make sure this specific paper is the right match for it; the product name alone doesn’t establish compatibility. The useful detail here is the combination of a generous roll width and a clearly stated length, so you can judge the format against the prints you plan to make. At 280gsm, the paper’s weight is part of the product identity too. It’s a focused option for people who already know they want this Galerie paper and need it in a wide, long roll.

Choosing this roll

The dimensions give you a practical way to compare this roll with the space and print sizes you have in mind. Its width is 1118mm, or 44 inches, while the roll length is 15 metres. Those measurements are useful when working out whether the format suits your intended output and how much continuous paper you want to have on hand. The 280gsm figure describes the paper’s stated weight; it isn’t a print-size recommendation, so base your choice on the requirements of your own workflow. Smooth Cotton Sprite is the full paper name to use when comparing it with other Galerie papers, rather than relying on weight alone. There’s no need to guess from the broad category: start with the exact surface name, weight and roll dimensions shown here. For this product, the key decision is straightforward: do you need a 44-inch roll, 15 metres long, in this named 280gsm paper?
