Ilford GALERIE SMOOTH GLOSS PAPER 25.4 CM/95 MTR

Ilford GALERIE Smooth Gloss Paper 25.4 cm/95 m | A long roll for photo printing

Its defining details are the smooth gloss finish and a 95-metre length, rather than a pack of individual sheets. Ilford GALERIE Smooth Gloss Paper is photo paper for people who print photographs regularly and want a substantial run of paper ready for their work. The stated width is 25.4 cm, giving you a clear starting point when planning the prints you want to make. The finish is smooth and glossy; those are the qualities to weigh against the look you prefer for your photographs. A long roll makes more sense when you expect to use paper over time than when you only need a handful of prints. That’s the honest trade-off: it gives you a lot of paper, but it’s a larger commitment than a small sheet pack. If your printing routine is regular, the format may fit more naturally into it.

Is this format right for your workflow?

Think about how often you print and what width you need before choosing a roll this long. The 25.4 cm measurement is useful for comparing the paper width with the prints you have in mind; the 95 m length tells you to plan for an ongoing supply, rather than a short test run. If you print only occasionally, a smaller amount of paper may be easier to manage. If you make photographs often, this roll gives you a consistent format to work with across a longer stretch of printing. The title identifies the paper as smooth gloss, so it’s best suited to shoppers who specifically want that finish. I’d choose it for the named surface and roll format, not on the assumption that it suits every printer or every print style.
