Ilford GP Raster Silk 290GSM A2 - 420mm X 594mm 25SH

Ilford GP Raster Silk 290GSM A2 - 420mm X 594mm 25SH | A2 silk photo paper for larger prints

When a photograph needs room to breathe on the page, the Ilford GP Raster Silk gives you an A2 sheet to work with. It’s photo paper with a silk finish, supplied as 25 sheets, and the stated paper weight is 290gsm. That makes it a practical option for photographers preparing larger prints, or for anyone who wants a larger sheet for a chosen image or project. The title gives the dimensions as 420 × 594mm, so you can plan around the finished sheet size before you print. “Silk” identifies the finish; it’s the defining detail to consider if you have a particular surface in mind. This is a specific format rather than a small everyday print size, so it suits jobs where the larger page is part of the plan.

Planning your print

It helps to decide how the image will sit on the page before you start printing. Consider whether you want the photograph to fill the sheet or leave a border, and allow for any space needed for a title or other notes. A larger sheet can also make the image itself the focus when displayed, but the final result depends on the image and layout you choose. If you’re preparing several prints, think through the order and crop of each image first; that makes it easier to keep a set looking consistent. The pack contains a fixed number of sheets, so it’s sensible to have the files and print settings ready before using one. In short, choose this paper when the A2 format and silk finish match the job you have in mind.
