Ilford OmniJet Gloss Photo Realistic Paper 235gsm 152.4cm | A wide format for photo-realistic prints

Choosing paper for a wide print can be awkward: the finish, weight and width all affect whether it suits the job you have in mind. Ilford OmniJet Gloss Photo Realistic Paper gives you those key details up front: it has a glossy surface, a weight of 235gsm and a width of 152.4cm. The name also identifies it as photo-realistic paper, making it a product to consider when the intended result is a photographic-looking print. Its wide format is the detail to plan around first; think about the finished print size and how you’ll handle the sheet or material during your workflow. The honest limit here is that the name alone can’t tell you how it will behave with a particular printer or image. If the stated width and paper type suit the work you’re preparing, this Ilford paper gives you a clearly identified starting point.

Choosing the right format

Before settling on paper, it helps to work backwards from the print. Consider the dimensions you want the finished image to have, and leave room in your plan for trimming or borders if those matter to the result. The stated 152.4cm width is a substantial format, so it’s especially useful to have the layout decided before you begin. Then think about the look you want from the surface: this paper is described as gloss, with “Photo Realistic” in the product name. Those details are more useful than a vague promise of quality; they let you compare the product with the needs of a specific print job. The 235gsm weight is another straightforward point to weigh up when choosing paper. If you’re matching materials for a project, keep these stated details together rather than relying on the product name alone.
