Ilford OmniJet Satin Photo Realistic Paper 235gsm 152,4cm...

Ilford OmniJet Satin Photo Realistic Paper 235gsm 152.4cm | For wide photographic prints

When a photographic image needs to be printed at a substantial width, the paper is part of the decision, not a detail to leave until the end. Ilford OmniJet Satin Photo Realistic Paper is described as a photo-realistic paper with a satin surface. Its stated weight is 235gsm, and its width is 152.4cm. That makes it relevant when the job calls for a broad sheet size and a satin finish. The name gives you a clear starting point for judging whether it suits the look you have in mind; it doesn’t tell the whole story of how your particular image will appear on paper. At Renz, we’d focus on the intended print and viewing setting before choosing a surface. If satin is the finish you’re after, and the stated size suits the work, this paper is a specific option to consider rather than a general-purpose description.

Planning the print

Before settling on paper for an important image, think about what the print needs to do. Is it meant to be viewed up close, or mainly from across a room? Will its surroundings affect how the surface looks? Those practical questions help you decide which finish makes sense for the job, without relying on a paper name alone. It’s also worth considering the image itself: a quiet, finely detailed photograph and a bold graphic may call for different choices in presentation. There’s no universal answer, and personal preference matters. If you’re comparing options, look at the same image and judge each result in the kind of light where it will usually be seen. That gives you a more useful basis for choosing than selecting by weight or size in isolation. For this Ilford paper, the title identifies the finish and intended photographic character; your own print brief will determine whether those suit the final piece.
