Insta360 X5 Mic Adapter

Insta360 X5 Mic Adapter | Add a mic without hiding the view

A visible accessory can spoil the clean look of a 360° frame. The Insta360 X5 Mic Adapter is a microphone adapter for the Insta360 X5, with a design that remains out of 360° photos and video. It’s made for X5 owners who want to record with an external microphone while keeping the camera’s all-around view clear. For a vlog, it provides a way to use an external mic and charge the camera at the same time. That combination is also useful during longer recording sessions, where stopping to change between audio and charging setups interrupts filming. Multi-camera crews have another reason to consider it: support for an external timecode generator helps synchronise video tracks during editing. The adapter keeps its role specific and simple—connect an external mic, keep charging available, and stay unseen in the finished 360° image.

Highlights

• Invisible in 360° footage: The adapter’s X5-optimised construction stays out of 360° photos and video. Your finished view can show the scene without the adapter appearing in the frame.
• Microphone and charging together: Use an external microphone while charging the Insta360 X5. That’s a useful setup for longer recordings when pausing to switch connections would disrupt the session.
• External timecode support: The adapter supports external timecode generators. For multi-camera work, this gives you a way to synchronise video tracks in post-production.
• Locking clip: A dedicated clip holds the adapter securely on the camera and resists accidental disconnection. It still allows quick fitting and removal when you need to change setups.
• Lightweight construction: At 8.5 g, the adapter adds little weight to your camera kit. Its compact form is suited to carrying for vlogging or a production shoot.

Good to know

The adapter is made from plastic and measures 28 × 15.5 × 25.75 mm. Those dimensions make it a small accessory to pack alongside your camera gear, rather than a bulky part of the setup. Its low weight and compact size are worth noting if you’re keeping a travel kit minimal. The listed measurements describe the adapter itself.
