JJC F DA6MS2 Action Camera Filter | UV filtering for action-camera use

Trying to choose a filter for an action camera can be confusing when you want a specific purpose, not a dramatic image effect. The JJC F DA6MS2 is a UV filter intended for action-camera use. A UV filter is designed to screen ultraviolet light; in bright outdoor scenes, that can help limit the haze UV light may add to distant detail. It’s aimed at action-camera users who want this particular kind of filtering rather than an ND filter for controlling exposure or motion blur. Keep your expectations focused on the UV-filter role: it isn’t a way to darken a scene or deliberately slow your shutter. The product name identifies its intended camera category, but action cameras don’t all share the same filter fitting. Treat it as an option for a compatible action-camera setup, rather than assuming it fits every model.

Specialist Note

Is the JJC F DA6MS2 an ND filter for smoothing motion? No: it’s identified as a UV filter, so I’d choose it for UV filtering, not to create a slower-shutter look. The action-camera designation makes its intended use clear, but it doesn’t mean every action camera accepts the same filter fitting. I’d match the F DA6MS2 to the filter interface on your specific setup before relying on it. It makes most sense for someone filming outdoors who wants a UV filter for daylight scenes; if your goal is motion blur or a darker image, you’ll want a different filter type.
