Kelvin Epos-600-LK1
Kelvin Epos-600-LK1 | A UV filter for outdoor photography
Kelvin Epos-600-LK1 is a UV filter for photographers who want to limit ultraviolet light reaching the lens. It suits people photographing outdoors, particularly on film, where UV light can contribute to a bluish haze in distant landscapes. For digital photography, the effect of UV is usually less pronounced, so this filter’s appeal may be more about having a UV filter in place than expecting a dramatic change to every image. It’s worth thinking of it as a simple tool for a specific job, rather than a general image-enhancement filter. Use it when you want to manage the effect of UV light in a scene; don’t expect it to clear haze caused by moisture, pollution or distance. The model name identifies the filter, while its stated type is UV.
Specialist Note
In use, a UV filter is a straightforward addition: it works in front of the lens, without asking you to change exposure settings or camera controls. The Kelvin Epos-600-LK1 is specifically a UV filter, so I’d consider it for outdoor film photography when distant hills or coastlines pick up a bluish cast. It may help reduce that UV haze, but it can’t remove atmospheric haze already between you and the subject. For digital shooting, I’d keep expectations modest; the UV effect is often subtle. Any extra filter surface can also catch unwanted reflections in strong light, so take it off if flare appears.
