Kelvin PLAY-LK3
Kelvin PLAY-LK3 | UV filtering for outdoor scenes
Distant outdoor scenes are where ultraviolet light can contribute to a hazy look; the Kelvin PLAY-LK3 is a UV filter intended to screen that light. It suits photographers who want a filter in this category for landscape and other daylight photography, especially when there’s a lot of atmosphere between the camera and the subject. The benefit is specific, not dramatic: UV filtering may help reduce the effect of haze, but it won’t add detail that wasn’t captured or change every frame in a visible way. Think of the PLAY-LK3 as a straightforward option when UV filtration is what you’re after, rather than a filter for changing colour or adding creative effects. Its product name identifies it as a UV filter; the practical result to expect is tied to that role. For a distant view on a clear, bright day, that’s the kind of scene where this filter’s purpose is most relevant.
Specialist Note
First-time UV-filter buyers sometimes expect every picture to look noticeably different; that’s more than this kind of filter can promise. The PLAY-LK3 is identified as a UV filter, so its role is screening ultraviolet light, not changing colour or adding an effect. I’d consider it for outdoor landscapes with distant hills or buildings, where atmospheric haze can soften the view. It also suits someone who specifically wants UV filtration rather than a creative filter. Keep expectations measured: the result depends on the scene, and in some pictures the change may be subtle. That’s useful to know before choosing a filter for a particular look.
