Kelvin Play-Pro-LK1
Kelvin Play-Pro-LK1 | A straightforward UV filter for everyday use
A filter should have a clear purpose, not add another effect to manage. The Kelvin Play-Pro-LK1 is identified as a UV filter, a straightforward option for photographers who want this filter type rather than a colour or special-effect filter. UV filters are traditionally used to reduce the effect of ultraviolet light in a scene; on a modern digital camera, their appeal is often more about having a simple filter in front of the lens than changing the look of a photograph. That makes this a considered, practical category of filter for outdoor photography and everyday lens use. It can also serve as a surface between the front of a lens and dust or fingerprints, so you can clean the filter instead. Keep expectations modest: the product information identifies its type, but doesn’t establish a particular optical performance or effect. Choose it for the role of a UV filter, not for an unconfirmed feature.
Specialist Note
A UV filter won’t create a visible creative effect, so it’s not the one to choose for changing colour or adding a look to your pictures. Its appeal is the plain, practical job indicated by its type. The Kelvin Play-Pro-LK1 is the model name to use when identifying this filter, while “UV filter” tells you the kind of filter it is. I’d consider this category for outdoor lens use, or as a cleanable surface in front of a lens: fit it only where the filter thread matches, and wipe the filter rather than the lens when it needs attention. It’s a simple role, and that’s the honest reason to consider it.
