Kiwi Photo Lens Mount Adapter Camera LMA-L(R)-M4/3 | Use Leica R lenses on Micro Four Thirds cameras

The defining choice is a direct mount adapter: its L(R)-M4/3 designation pairs Leica R lenses with Micro Four Thirds cameras. Kiwi Photo made this for photographers who already own Leica R glass and want to use those lenses on a Micro Four Thirds body, rather than leave them on the shelf. It gives you a way to bring a familiar lens into a different camera system for portraits, carefully framed details or composed landscapes. The appeal is straightforward: keep working with a lens you know while using a Micro Four Thirds camera body. This is a focused, system-specific accessory, not a general-purpose converter. Its value depends on owning a Leica R lens and a Micro Four Thirds camera; the mount pairing is the key detail to get right.

Specialist Note

Photographers with Leica R lenses who want to make portraits or build deliberate landscape compositions on a Micro Four Thirds body are the people I’d point towards this adapter. The L(R) marking identifies the lens side, so it gives you a clear match for Leica R glass; M4/3 names the camera side, making the intended pairing easy to identify. For a portrait, mount your Leica R lens on the adapter, attach it to the Micro Four Thirds camera and compose around the look of that lens. It can also suit a patient, tripod-based landscape setup. One important limit: this is for that specific mount pairing, so it won’t help if your lenses or camera use different mounts.
