Laowa 24mm T14 Periprobe Waterproof Shell
Laowa 24mm T14 Periprobe Waterproof Shell | Take your Periprobe underwater
Taking a specialised lens underwater can be a worry: without a suitable housing, snorkelling, diving and pool photography are off the table. This waterproof shell is an underwater housing for the Laowa 24mm T14 Periprobe, giving you a way to use that specific lens in those settings. It’s aimed at photographers who want to bring the Periprobe’s distinctive perspective to scenes below the surface, rather than leave the lens on dry land. A pool is a practical place to plan a controlled shot; snorkelling and diving offer more varied underwater subjects. The shell’s purpose is clear, but it isn’t a general-purpose camera bag or a substitute for underwater technique. Think of it as the housing component of a specialised setup, built around the named Laowa lens. If underwater work is part of your plan, this is the product to consider for that lens.
Specialist Note
At the pool, I’d start with the 24mm perspective and frame a close underwater detail, keeping the subject clear and the composition deliberate. The T14 marking matters in practice: it points to a relatively light-hungry setup, so I’d favour a brightly lit scene rather than expect easy results in dim water. That makes this shell a good fit for someone who already has a specific Periprobe shot in mind and wants to work in a pool, while snorkelling or on a dive. My honest advice is to plan the lighting before you get in; the housing gets the lens into the environment, but it can’t make a dark scene bright.
