Leofoto FA-08 2 In 1 Hot Shoe Plate
Leofoto FA-08 2 In 1 Hot Shoe Plate | Trigger off-camera flash
The Leofoto FA-08 combines a flash trigger/transmitter with a 2-in-1 hot shoe plate, giving you a dedicated way to fire off-camera flash. It’s aimed at photographers who want to place their flash away from the camera for portraits or product shots, rather than rely on light coming from the camera position. That makes it especially relevant when you want to shape the direction of light: for a portrait, move the flash to one side of your subject; for a product, adjust its position to bring out shape and detail. The FA-08’s purpose is straightforward: triggering flash off camera. It doesn’t tell you how to arrange your lighting, so you’ll still need to choose the flash position that suits the subject. If your main need is a transmitter for these kinds of setups, this is a focused option to consider.
Specialist Note
The Leofoto FA-08 is best at firing an off-camera flash for portraits and product photography. Its trigger/transmitter role is the key point: use it when you want the flash away from the camera, then adjust the light’s position to control how it falls on your subject. The 2-in-1 hot shoe plate is the other defining part of this product, so it’s worth considering if that specific plate-and-trigger format suits your setup. For a portrait, start with the flash off to one side; for a product, try shifting it until the shape reads clearly. It handles the firing job, while choosing and positioning the light remains part of your setup.
