Metabones Contax Yashica - MFT T Cine

Metabones Contax Yashica - MFT T Cine | Contax/Yashica to MFT conversion

To use a Contax/Yashica lens on an MFT camera, the Metabones Contax Yashica - MFT T Cine is the converter named for that pairing. It’s aimed at photographers and filmmakers who already have lenses in the Contax/Yashica system and want to use them with an MFT setup. The key detail is right in the name: Contax Yashica on one side, MFT on the other, with T Cine identifying this version. That makes it a specific piece of kit for a specific lens-to-camera combination, rather than a general-purpose accessory. If your work revolves around those two systems, its purpose is easy to understand. The honest point is that the title tells you the conversion it’s intended for; it doesn’t tell you how a particular lens will look or behave on your camera.

The useful first step is matching the names on your lens and camera to the two sides of the converter. Contax/Yashica describes the lens side, while MFT describes the camera side. The product is also identified as T Cine, so that designation is part of the version name rather than a performance claim. This is a focused option for someone planning a setup around that exact pairing; it isn’t described as a universal converter. If you’re building a kit around Contax/Yashica glass and an MFT camera, the naming gives you a clear starting point for choosing the right conversion. For a shop-floor conversation, that’s the practical takeaway: match the lens system and camera system first, then consider this T Cine version.
