Nedis CAT6 S/FTP-Cable RJ45 (8P8C) M-RJ45 (8P8C) M 5m Grey | A straightforward wired connection

Nedis CAT6 S/FTP-Cable RJ45 (8P8C) M-RJ45 (8P8C) M 5m Grey is a 5-metre grey cable with male RJ45 (8P8C) connectors at both ends. It’s made for anyone setting up a wired connection between equipment with matching RJ45 sockets, such as a home or work network. The CAT6 S/FTP designation makes it a specific cable type to choose when that’s what your setup calls for; it’s not a vague, unmarked lead. Its best use is a planned cable run where five metres gives you enough reach without needing to join separate cables. The grey finish is understated, so it won’t draw much attention along a route. For a simple connection between compatible ports, the key thing is that the connector format and cable type match your requirements. There’s little mystery here: it’s a defined length of network cable for a particular kind of connection.

Planning the cable run

Before you place the cable, think through the route rather than measuring only the gap between the two devices. A cable may need to follow a wall, pass around furniture or leave enough slack for the equipment to be moved into position. Marking that path first helps you judge whether the available length suits your layout. Also check the sockets at both ends of the connection: this cable has the same male RJ45 format at each end, so it’s intended for a setup with a matching socket on each device. Those are the practical checks that matter most here. If your route is shorter than the cable, decide where the extra length can sit neatly; if it’s longer, this particular cable won’t reach on its own. That’s a more useful decision than choosing by colour alone.
