Nedis High Speed HDMI-Cable w/ Ethernet

Nedis High Speed HDMI-Cable w/ Ethernet: Connect devices over 5 metres

Its 5-metre reach and Ethernet support make the Nedis High Speed HDMI-Cable w/ Ethernet a useful link between devices that need both an HDMI connection and networking. It’s for home-entertainment setups where the screen and source aren’t side by side. Connect a TV or monitor to a PlayStation or Xbox, run a streaming receiver such as an Amazon Fire TV or Apple TV to a display, or link a projector to an HDMI source. The cable supports up to 4K at 60 Hz and a maximum data rate of 18 Gbit/s, so it handles detailed video at the stated 4K resolution. It also supports 1080p. At 5 metres, it offers more reach than a short desk cable, though the run still needs to suit your room layout. The cable is black, with a 5.5 mm diameter.

Why it is useful

• Ethernet support: The HDMI connection supports networking between devices. That’s useful in setups where connected equipment needs an Ethernet-capable link through HDMI.
• 18 Gbit/s maximum data rate: This is the cable’s stated maximum transfer speed. It pairs with the 4K at 60 Hz support for high-resolution video connections.
• Audio Return Channel: ARC is supported, allowing audio to travel back through the HDMI connection in compatible setups. It’s a useful feature when the connected equipment uses this HDMI audio function.
• HDCP support: The cable supports HDCP, a content-protection feature used with HDMI equipment. This matters when connecting sources and displays that use protected video content.
• 3D support: The cable supports 3D content in Full HD. That gives compatible devices a suitable HDMI link for viewing supported 3D material.
• 5.5 mm cable diameter: The cable has a stated diameter of 5.5 mm. That’s a handy measurement to have when planning how the cable will run through your setup.

Good to know

The cable also supports Deep Color, a display feature, alongside its stated support for 1080p video. These details complement the higher 4K resolution support: the listed formats cover both Full HD applications, including 3D, and 4K at 60 Hz. Its black finish keeps the cable visually understated beside typical black AV equipment, though the colour is simply a practical detail rather than a performance specification.
