Novoflex MagicStudio Acryl Plaat 40x50cm

Novoflex MagicStudio Acrylic Plate 40x50cm | A defined surface for product shots

Without a dedicated surface, it’s easy to end up photographing an object on whatever happens to be close by. The Novoflex MagicStudio Acrylic Plate gives you a specific surface to work with: an acrylic plate measuring 40 × 50 cm, in black. It’s an accessory for photographers setting up a product shot or a small tabletop scene, especially when the surface itself needs to be part of the composition rather than an afterthought. The size gives you a clear area to plan around, while the black colour can suit subjects that benefit from a darker setting. It’s a straightforward piece of kit, not a lighting solution or a complete shooting setup. For close product work, that simplicity is useful: you can decide how the object should sit in the frame and arrange the rest of your setup around the plate.

Planning your setup

Before you shoot, consider the scale of the items you usually photograph and how much surrounding space you want visible in the frame. That’s the practical question this plate’s stated dimensions help you answer. A smaller subject may leave room to compose with a little breathing space; a larger one may take up more of the available area. The black finish gives you a clear starting point for deciding how the subject should read against its surroundings. Those are choices to make for the image you have in mind, rather than promises about how a particular subject will look. If you’re building a repeatable tabletop arrangement, having a named surface to plan around can make the setup easier to think through.
