Olympus PFUD-08 LCD Hood For PT-058 / PT-059 | Shade the LCD for easier viewing

The PFUD-08 is an LCD hood made for the Olympus PT-058 and PT-059, giving owners of either model a dedicated way to shade the camera’s screen. It suits photographers who use the LCD to compose or review images and want to make the display easier to see when surrounding light gets in the way. Its role is specific: it’s for viewing the LCD, rather than changing how the camera captures an image. That makes it a straightforward accessory to consider if screen visibility is the part of your setup you’d like to improve. The two named housings are the key to choosing it; this isn’t a general-purpose screen hood. If you use a PT-058 or PT-059 and often work from the LCD, the PFUD-08 is designed for that particular pairing.

Specialist Note

The Olympus PFUD-08 is an LCD hood for shading the screen on a PT-058 or PT-059. I’d look at it if you rely on the LCD outdoors, either to compose a shot or to review one in bright surroundings; keeping the hood over the display can make the screen easier to view. The two housing names matter here: this accessory is intended for those specific models, so it’s a focused addition rather than a general screen accessory. It won’t change the image your camera records, of course. Its value is in making the LCD more practical to use when glare is the nuisance.
