OWC Express 1M2 USB4 (80GB/s) 8TB Bus-Powered Portable NVMe SSD

OWC Express 1M2 USB4 (80GB/s) 8TB Bus-Powered Portable NVMe SSD | Keep large projects close at hand

Keep a substantial set of working files together and ready to move between jobs with the OWC Express 1M2 USB4 (80GB/s) 8TB Bus-Powered Portable NVMe SSD. Its 8TB capacity gives photographers and other creative professionals room for large collections, active projects or a mix of the two. The portable, bus-powered design suits a workflow where storage needs to travel with you, rather than stay in a fixed desktop setup. USB4 is the connection named in the product title, alongside an 80GB/s figure; that number is part of the headline specification, not a promise about the speed of every real-world transfer. If you regularly work with big files, having a dedicated drive for current projects can make it easier to keep them in one place. It’s a straightforward idea: substantial external storage in a portable form.

For files that travel with the job

A portable drive can be useful when a project moves between locations, or when you want to keep current work separate from the storage built into your computer. For a photographer, that might mean gathering a shoot’s files in one place while you sort, select and prepare the images. It can also give a larger project its own home, instead of scattering working files across folders and devices. The value here is capacity in a carryable format; the drive is aimed at people who need space close to their workflow, not a small pocket drive for a handful of documents. One practical point: the 80GB/s figure is striking, but the complete setup matters when judging transfer performance. Choose this model for its stated capacity and portable, bus-powered design, and consider the rest of your working setup when speed is the deciding factor.
