Permajet FB Gold Silk 315 Roll 44INCHES 15m

Permajet FB Gold Silk 315 Roll 44INCHES 15m | A long roll for wide-format print workflows

Loose sheets can mean pausing to reload between prints; this Permajet photo paper comes as a roll for work planned in a continuous length. It’s named FB Gold Silk 315 and measures 44 inches wide by 15 metres long. That makes the format the key point to consider: it’s aimed at people whose print plans call for a broad roll rather than individual sheets. The product name identifies the paper, but doesn’t explain what “315” refers to, so I’d treat it as part of the model name rather than assume a unit or specification. If you already work with roll media and have a project in mind, the width and length give you clear figures to plan around. It’s a specialist-sized format, so the honest first question is whether those dimensions suit the prints you intend to make.

Planning around a roll

A roll format changes how you think about a print run. Instead of choosing from a stack of fixed sheet sizes, you plan around the width of the media and the length available on the roll. That can be helpful when your work calls for prints with varying lengths, though the paper itself doesn’t determine what a particular printer can feed or produce. Make the printer’s accepted media width and roll-feed requirements part of your planning, then consider how much of the roll your intended output will use.

The 15-metre length is also useful when estimating a run: work out the combined length of your planned prints, leaving room for any spacing or trimming your process needs. Those allowances depend on your workflow, so there isn’t one sensible yield figure to give here. Keep the product name handy when comparing paper options, and use the listed dimensions as the concrete starting point. For a roll purchase, that’s more useful than guessing from the name alone.
