Permajet Matt Proofing 160 Roll 44INCHES 30m

Permajet Matt Proofing 160 Roll 44INCHES 30m | A wide roll for proofing prints

Its defining purpose is clear from the name: this is Permajet matt proofing paper, supplied as a roll. It’s aimed at photographers and printmakers who need proofing paper in a wide format, rather than a small pack of sheets. The title identifies the paper as 160 and gives the roll dimensions as 44 inches wide by 30 metres long. That makes the format the key point when deciding if it suits a particular print workflow. Matt is the surface specified, and proofing is the stated use; beyond that, I’d avoid assuming a particular printer fit or print result without more product information. If you’re selecting paper specifically for proofing and need this roll size, those are the details to weigh up.

Considering the format

A roll can suit jobs where you want paper supplied continuously rather than as individual sheets. The practical question is how that format fits your printing setup and the work you plan to produce. Think about the width your jobs call for, how you’ll handle a roll during printing, and whether proofing is the paper’s role in your process. Those are workflow considerations, not claims about print quality or printer compatibility. For a specialist shop purchase, I’d treat the product name as a useful guide to its intended role, then base the decision on the format your work actually needs. There’s no reason to read extra performance promises into the title.
