PolarPro Air 3S ND/PL Filters
PolarPro Air 3S ND/PL Filters | Manage light and reflections in bright scenes
Bright scenes can make it harder to keep video motion looking natural and to see detail through reflections. The PolarPro Air 3S ND/PL Filters are designed for Air 3S users who want more control over those two things while filming outdoors. ND filtration reduces the light reaching the camera, giving you room to use a slower shutter in daylight instead of letting bright conditions dictate your exposure. The PL part helps reduce reflections from surfaces such as water or glass, which can make what’s beneath or behind them easier to see. That makes these filters especially relevant for daytime video and scenes with reflective surfaces. They’re also useful when you want to manage light and reflections in the same outing, rather than relying on the camera alone. The product name tells you the filter type and intended system; it doesn’t specify a filter strength, so choose your exposure based on the conditions in front of you.
Specialist Note
The PolarPro Air 3S ND/PL Filters are for controlling bright light and surface reflections in Air 3S footage. I’d consider them when you film in open daylight: the ND function gives you more freedom over shutter speed, which helps keep motion from looking overly abrupt. For a view across water, or through a window, the PL function can reduce distracting reflections; adjust the camera’s position to see how the reflection changes. That’s the specific appeal here: ND and PL functions in a filter set named for the Air 3S. It suits Air 3S owners who film outdoors and want to manage both exposure and glare. You’ll still need to make exposure decisions for the light you’re working in.
