Radius 18cm Nimbus Windshield (19/22) Black Fur
Radius 18cm Nimbus Windshield (19/22) Black Fur | Help tame wind noise outdoors
For outdoor audio where moving air can spoil a recording, a microphone windshield helps make speech and ambient sound more usable. The Radius 18cm Nimbus Windshield (19/22) Black Fur is a fur-covered windscreen for recording setups that need a physical barrier between the microphone and the breeze. Its 18 cm format gives you a clear size reference, while the 19/22 designation helps identify the version you’re considering. The black fur finish is practical when you want wind protection without a bright cover drawing attention in the frame. It suits filmmakers, interviewers and audio recordists working outside, particularly when they need to capture dialogue or location sound with less wind disturbance. It’s a focused accessory rather than a fix for every audio problem: wind protection won’t correct poor mic placement or handling noise. Match the marked version to your microphone’s windshield requirements.
Specialist Note
This 18 cm fur windshield gives you a purpose-made way to manage wind around a microphone, rather than trying to block the breeze with your body or a nearby object. The black fur finish is a discreet option when the microphone may appear in shot, such as during an outdoor interview. I’d consider it for spoken-word recording or location ambience when moving air is the concern; position the mic for the sound you want, then use the windshield as its wind cover. The 19/22 designation is the key detail to match to the windshield size your setup calls for. Keep in mind that this addresses wind, not handling noise, so careful mic handling still matters.
