Radius Mini Urchin LAV Windshield White (Pair)
Radius Mini Urchin LAV Windshield White (Pair) | Help tame wind noise on lavalier recordings
Your lavalier recordings can sound less exposed to moving air with a small windshield over the microphone. The Radius Mini Urchin LAV Windshield is made for that simple job: helping soften wind noise when a mic is used for an interview, a presentation or another close-voice recording. It suits video makers and interviewers who use a lavalier microphone and want a discreet-looking way to manage breezy conditions. The white finish can sit more quietly against light clothing than a dark cover, which is useful when the mic remains visible in frame. You get a pair, handy when you want to prepare two microphones or keep a spare ready. It’s a focused accessory rather than a fix for every recording problem; its purpose is to help with wind around the mic.
Specialist Note
2 covers give you a practical option when you’re preparing two lav mics for a conversation or keeping a spare within reach. The Mini name points to a compact form, so it makes sense when you want the mic setup to stay visually unobtrusive. I’d use the white finish for a visible mic on light clothing, such as a presenter’s shirt, where a dark cover could draw the eye. For an outdoor interview, place the windshield over the lav mic and keep the mic close to the speaker for a clear voice with less wind disturbance. It can help with moving air, but it won’t remove strong gusts or background noise.
