Rycote Grey Undercovers (w/ 100XSTICKIES) - Pack/100USES
Rycote Grey Undercovers (w/ 100XSTICKIES) - Pack/100USES | Keep a microphone discreet beneath clothing
A lavalier microphone can be difficult to conceal under clothing; a visible mic or an improvised fix can distract in a shot or interview. Rycote Grey Undercovers are made for placing a microphone beneath clothing, with 100X stickies for attaching it. They suit video makers, interviewers and anyone recording spoken audio who wants a neater-looking setup. The pack is marked for 100 uses, making it a practical supply for regular recording rather than a single session. Use an undercover when the microphone needs to stay out of view, and take time to position it where the speaker’s voice is clear. It’s a focused accessory, not a replacement for choosing a suitable microphone or managing clothing noise, but it gives you a dedicated way to conceal a mic. The supplier lists the colour as black.
For discreet microphone placement
Plan the microphone position before attaching it: choose a spot beneath the clothing that keeps it out of the frame and close to the speaker. The stickies provide the attachment for this undercover setup. This makes the pack relevant for interview recording, dialogue in a video, or other situations where a visible microphone would be distracting. Since the product is intended for under-clothing placement, allow time to check that the garment sits naturally over the mic before recording.
Specialist Note
The 100-use pack will eventually run out, so it’s worth treating these as a recording consumable; the reason I’d choose this set is that it gives you a dedicated undercover and 100X stickies for repeated discreet setups. The black colour can be a sensible match beneath darker clothing, while the undercover format helps keep the microphone out of sight. I’d consider it for interview dialogue or a presenter speaking on camera: place the mic beneath the garment, then check the framing and clothing position before you roll. It suits anyone who regularly needs a hidden lavalier setup. Just remember that concealment doesn’t automatically prevent clothing noise.
