Rycote Shure MV88 Mini Windjammer
Rycote Shure MV88 Mini Windjammer | Helps tame wind in recordings
Keep outdoor speech clearer when a breeze reaches the microphone. The Rycote Shure MV88 Mini Windjammer is a wind-cover accessory named for the Shure MV88 Mini, intended to help reduce wind disturbance during recording. It suits people making spoken-word recordings with that microphone, from quick interviews to on-the-go voice clips, where moving air can distract from what’s being said. Its purpose is specific: help manage wind at the mic, rather than change how you record or add another control to operate. That makes it a straightforward accessory to consider when your recording day takes you outdoors. It won’t make a windy location silent, so it’s still sensible to choose a sheltered spot when you can. But when you need to record in the open, a windjammer gives you a simple way to address one common source of unwanted noise. If you use the Shure MV88 Mini and want a named Rycote wind accessory for it, this is the focused option described by the product name.
Specialist Note
The Rycote Shure MV88 Mini Windjammer has one clear job: helping keep wind from distracting from a recording made with the MV88 Mini. The Shure model name matters here; this is a windjammer identified for that specific microphone, not a general-purpose accessory. Rycote is the name on the product too, so you can choose the wind-cover option associated with that brand. I’d consider it for outdoor interviews or spoken voice clips: use it when breezy air is the thing you want to manage, and choose a sheltered position as well if conditions allow. It’s a focused aid, not a way to erase every sound in a windy setting.
