Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV True-Streak® Gold 4mm 4x5.65
Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV True-Streak® Gold 4mm 4x5.65 | Add warm streaks to bright points of light
Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV True-Streak® Gold 4mm 4x5.65 is a gold-effect streak filter in the 4x5.65 format, made for cinematographers and filmmakers shaping the look of a shot in camera. Its True-Streak effect turns bright points of light into visible streaks with a warm gold character, bringing a deliberate graphic accent to scenes with practical lights, headlights or illuminated signs. It’s especially suited to controlled compositions where you can choose which light sources enter the frame and how prominent the streaks should be. Try positioning a small, bright source near the edge of the composition for a subtle line, or bring it closer to the centre when you want the effect to draw more attention. This is a specialised creative filter, rather than an everyday correction filter; its appeal is the distinctive streak effect and gold colour, not a neutral rendering of the scene.
Specialist Note
Filmmakers composing night streets, music videos or stylised interiors are the people I’d point toward this gold True-Streak. The gold character gives bright sources a warmer streak, so a sign or headlight can become part of the image’s design rather than just a point in the background. For a restrained result, keep the light source small in the frame; let it grow more prominent when you want the streak to read clearly. The 4x5.65 format gives you a specific filter size to plan around in your setup, while the 4mm designation identifies this particular version. It’s a deliberate look, so I’d reach for it when that gold line is wanted—not as an all-purpose filter.
