Sirui Astra Series 75mm T1.8 1.33X FullFrame Cine Lens (L Mount Blue Flare) | Anamorphic character for focused filmmaking

The 1.33X anamorphic design and blue flare character give this Sirui a distinct visual signature among full-frame cine primes. It’s aimed at filmmakers working with Leica L-mount cameras who want that look in a short telephoto focal length, rather than a wider, more environmental view. Use it for composed interview shots, close-ups and detail footage where you can control the framing and want the subject to carry the scene. The lens is also a practical fit for scripted video work: it’s an interchangeable prime with manual focus, so focus is set deliberately as part of the shot. Its T1.8 maximum aperture gives you room to work when available light is limited. The 1.33X squeeze also calls for the right desqueeze workflow in post, so plan for that when you set up your edit.

Specialist Note

T1.8 gives you useful exposure flexibility for an interview in a dim room, without immediately having to add more light. At 75mm, you’ll get a tighter view that keeps attention on a speaker or a small detail; allow enough space to frame your subject comfortably. I’d consider it for a carefully composed talking-head shot or close-up, then pull focus manually to guide the viewer’s attention. The full-frame image area suits a full-frame Leica L-mount setup, while the 1.33X anamorphic look asks for a little extra thought in post. It’s a focused tool, not the lens I’d choose when the scene needs a broad view.
