SmallHD NPF-Z100 Battery Eliminator | Run a monitor without battery swaps

Running a monitor from a battery can make a fixed setup more fiddly than it needs to be: you have to plan around battery changes instead of the way the rig is powered. The SmallHD NPF-Z100 Battery Eliminator offers a different approach. As a battery eliminator, its purpose is to let a monitor run without relying on a battery in use. That makes it relevant when you’re building a monitor setup around an alternative power arrangement, particularly if the monitor stays in one place or is part of a rig used for extended periods. It isn’t another battery to charge and rotate; the point is to take battery swaps out of the routine. NPF-Z100 is the specific designation in the product name, so this isn’t presented as a universal power accessory. If your setup is planned to run a monitor without a battery, this is the product to look at. Treat it as an eliminator, not as a standalone power source.

Specialist Note

This isn’t a spare battery you can swap in, so it’s the wrong pick if your main aim is simply to carry another charged battery. I’d consider it when you want a monitor rig to run without making battery changes part of the session. The NPF-Z100 designation is useful when identifying this particular SmallHD accessory; I wouldn’t assume that a similar-looking battery accessory is interchangeable. It suits a monitor kept in a fixed position, or a longer stationary setup where you want to avoid planning around battery swaps. Build it into the power arrangement your rig is designed to use, rather than treating the eliminator itself as a power pack.
