SmallRig 087 CPL Filter For Insta360 Go Ultr

SmallRig 087 CPL Filter For Insta360 Go Ultr | Reduce reflected glare outdoors

Reflections from water and glass can compete with the subject in your action-camera footage. The SmallRig 087 CPL Filter is a circular polarising filter for the Insta360 Go Ultr, intended to reduce that reflected glare and help colours look more defined in bright scenes. It’s most relevant if you film outdoors near water, through windows or around other reflective surfaces, where unwanted highlights can distract from what you’re recording. A polariser’s effect depends on the angle of the light and your shooting position, so results will vary with the scene; it won’t remove every reflection. If you use the Insta360 Go Ultr for travel clips, outdoor activities or everyday video, this filter gives you a way to manage glare in the image rather than simply accepting the reflections as they appear.

When polarisation helps

A CPL filter works by filtering polarised light. In practical terms, that can make reflections from non-metallic surfaces less prominent and can add depth to skies and colours in some outdoor scenes. The change is most noticeable when the light and camera angle suit the scene, rather than in every direction or under every lighting condition. A polariser also reduces the amount of light reaching the camera, so it’s a consideration in dim settings. For this filter, the clearest use is reflective outdoor footage where glare is part of the problem you want to address.
