SmallRig 5472 Mount Plate w/ Cold Shoe Mount (4pcs)
SmallRig 5472 Mount Plate w/ Cold Shoe Mount (4pcs) | Add cold-shoe points to tripod setups
The defining choice is a mount plate with a cold shoe mount: it gives this tripod accessory a clear role in a camera setup, providing a place for a cold-shoe accessory as part of the arrangement. The SmallRig 5472 suits photographers and video makers who want mounting options within a tripod-based rig. Its appeal is practical rather than elaborate: it’s a building block for setups where a cold-shoe point is useful close to the camera. You can plan an arrangement around the plate, rather than treating every accessory as a separate piece of the setup. This is a focused accessory, not a tripod support system in itself. If your priority is adding cold-shoe mounting to a tripod setup, the product’s purpose is straightforward and easy to understand.
Specialist Note
Setup stays flexible with four pieces in the pack: you can plan more than one mounting position instead of shifting a single plate whenever your rig arrangement changes. I’d consider it for a tripod-based camera rig where you want a cold-shoe accessory near the camera, or for keeping a second layout ready. Decide where the accessory needs to sit, then use the plate’s cold shoe mount as its mounting point. The plate and shoe are combined here, which keeps that part of the setup direct. It’s a focused accessory, though; it helps with mounting, not with supporting the camera or adding a new camera function. If that’s the job you need done, this set makes sense.
