TetherTools TetherPro Optima 10G Mobile Tethering Kit 6' (1.8m) Straig

TetherTools TetherPro Optima 10G Mobile Tethering Kit 6' (1.8m) Straight | A tidy tablet tethering setup for location work

A loose cable and a tablet that needs its own support can make a mobile tethering station awkward to set up and pack away. The TetherTools TetherPro Optima 10G Mobile Tethering Kit brings those parts together around a straight 1.8 m USB 3.2 data cable, an AeroTab Large ThreadMount and a TetherGuard ThreadMount Support. It’s intended for photographers working with an iPad or tablet on location, where a compact kit is easier to carry between shoots and quicker to put away at the end of the session. The AeroTab holds a tablet, while the threaded support secures the cable at the mount and helps protect the connected port from strain. That makes the kit useful for a tethered shoot where a tablet is part of the working setup, a temporary workstation that needs to be assembled and dismantled between locations, or a travel kit where keeping the cable support with the tablet mount is helpful. The cable is plug and play, so the Optima series doesn’t require camera-setting changes to get started. One detail worth noting: the Large mount size is for tablets measuring 330–500 mm diagonally, so the tablet’s size matters when choosing this kit.

Highlights

• 10G Optima cable: The kit centres on Tether Tools’ TetherPro Optima 10G data cable. It’s intended for tethered data transfer, rather than being described as a general-purpose charging cable.
• USB 3.2 interface: The cable uses a USB 3.2 interface. That’s a useful detail to have when matching the cable to the rest of a tethering setup.
• Straight, 1.8 m cable: Its straight configuration keeps the cable run direct, and the 1.8 m length is suited to a compact mobile workstation. There’s no need to manage a longer cable when the tablet and camera are set up close together.
• Orange cable: The cable is orange, making it easy to pick out among the equipment at a shoot. That visible colour also makes the cable’s route easier to follow around the mobile setup.
• AeroTab Large ThreadMount: The included tablet mount is the Large size, for tablets with a diagonal measurement from 330 to 500 mm. That range is the key fit detail for this version of the kit.
• TetherGuard port support: The ThreadMount Support holds the cable at the AeroTab’s threaded receiver. This takes unwanted pull away from the connected port, reducing strain on that connection while the cable is in use.
• Plug-and-play operation: The Optima cable series works without camera setting changes. The cable’s robust construction and strain-relief design support a secure connection during a tethered session.
