TetherTools TetherPro Optima 10G USB-C 15' (4.6m) Straight To Right N

TetherTools TetherPro Optima 10G USB-C 15' (4.6m) Straight to Right-Angle, Orange - 10 Gb/s data transfer

An awkward cable run can get in the way of a tethered shoot, and reviewing images on a camera’s small screen can slow down decisions. The TetherTools TetherPro Optima 10G USB-C is a 15-foot (4.6m) cable for connecting a USB-C camera to a computer, with a straight plug at one end and a right-angle plug at the other. Its USB 3.2 Gen 2 connection supports data transfer up to 10 Gb/s, so you can send images to a computer during a shoot and review them on a larger laptop display. That setup is useful in a studio when you’re checking focus and composition, or on a set where a computer is positioned away from the camera. The generous cable length also gives you more reach between those connected devices than a short lead. The right-angle connector can be routed close to the camera body, which is handy when a straight plug would extend into the working area. This is a data cable, not a charging cable; choose it for a tethered transfer workflow rather than powering a device. It’s finished in orange, making the cable easy to pick out in a busy setup.

Highlights

• USB 3.2 Gen 2: The interface supports data transfer rates up to 10 Gb/s. That bandwidth is useful when transferring image files to a connected computer as you work, rather than relying only on the camera’s rear display for review.
• Straight-to-right-angle USB-C: One end has a straight USB-C plug and the other a right-angle USB-C plug. The angled end can follow the camera’s edge more closely, while the straight end connects at the other device.
• 15 ft (4.6 m) reach: The cable’s length gives you space to position a connected computer away from the camera. That extra reach is useful for tethered shooting arrangements where the computer isn’t right beside the camera.
• Insulated, shielded and braided: The cable combines insulation and shielding with a braided outer design. These are the stated construction details of the Optima cable, suited to the handling involved in a connected photography workflow.
• Soft-grip connector tips: The connector ends have soft-grip tips for handling when plugging in or disconnecting the cable. It’s a small detail that matters when making connections as a shoot begins or wraps up.
• Data transfer only: This cable is intended for sending data and doesn’t charge connected devices. Keep that distinction in mind when choosing a cable for a camera-to-computer tethering setup.
• Orange finish: The bright orange cable is easy to distinguish among equipment and other leads on a set. This is the orange version of the TetherPro Optima cable.
