Tiffen 95CCP 95C mm Circular Polarizer Filt
Tiffen 95CCP 95 mm Circular Polarizer Filter | Control reflections outdoors
Bright light bouncing off water, glass or glossy leaves can distract from the subject you meant to photograph. A circular polarizer is made to help manage those reflections and deepen the look of skies and foliage; rotate it while looking through the camera to find the effect you want. The Tiffen 95CCP is a 95 mm circular polarizing filter, suited to photographers whose lens takes that filter size and who want direct control over reflected light in a scene. It’s particularly useful for landscapes, waterside views and scenes shot through windows, where glare can hide detail. The result depends on the light and your angle to the reflective surface, so it’s a tool for adjusting a picture, not a switch that removes every reflection. Choose it for situations where you can take a moment to set the filter’s position and judge the change in the frame.
Specialist Note
Reflections covering the detail you want are exactly the kind of distraction this filter can help you manage. The 95 mm size is the key practical point: match it to a lens with a 95 mm filter thread, and you can use the filter directly on that lens. Its circular polarizer design lets you rotate it to vary the effect; for a window, turn it while watching the view until the reflected scene recedes, or adjust it against a blue sky to see where the colour deepens. I’d consider it for landscape and architecture work in strong daylight. It does reduce the light reaching the camera, so it’s less suited to dim scenes.
