Transcend Cardreader (CF/SDHC/SDXC/MicroSDHC/SDXC) USB 3.1

Transcend Cardreader (CF/SDHC/SDXC/MicroSDHC/SDXC) USB 3.1 | Move card files to your computer

Your pictures are ready to move off a card and onto your computer, without connecting your camera for the transfer. This Transcend card reader is for photographers who work with CF, SDHC, SDXC, MicroSDHC or MicroSDXC cards and want a reader for those formats. Its USB 3.1 connection is part of how it links into your workflow; it doesn’t tell us how quickly a particular transfer will run. The practical benefit is having one reader for the card types named here, rather than needing to describe your card by guesswork. If you’ve got images waiting on one of these cards, the reader gives you a direct way to access them from a computer. That’s the job it’s best suited to.

A card reader makes the transfer step separate from taking pictures: remove the card, use it with the reader, and work with the files on your computer. That can be handy when you prefer to leave your camera out of the download process or when you’re sorting files from different cards. The format names matter, so match your card to the types listed below; the title covers both SD and microSD variants as well as CF. USB 3.1 is the stated connection, but it isn’t a promise of a particular transfer rate. Real-world transfer time can depend on the card and computer, so I wouldn’t buy this on an assumed speed. Choose it for the card formats you need to read.
