Urth 43mm Base Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL)

Urth 43mm Base Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL) | Reduce reflections outdoors

Reduce reflections on water and glass, or add depth to a blue sky, with the polarising option in the Urth 43mm Base Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL). It’s a filter kit in a 43mm size, identified for UV and CPL filtration. The circular polariser can be rotated to change how strongly it affects reflections and sky, giving you control while you compose. That makes it useful for outdoor photography where glare is hiding detail or a bright sky is competing with the subject. The UV option provides UV filtration; the CPL is the part to reach for when you want to manage reflected light. This kit suits photographers whose lens takes 43mm filters and who want those two types of filtration available in one kit. The polarising effect depends on the light and your angle to it, so it’s something to adjust for each scene rather than leave at one setting.

Getting the most from the CPL

Look through the camera and turn the CPL slowly as you frame the scene. The change is easiest to judge on reflective surfaces and in the sky. For the strongest effect on a blue sky, work with the camera pointed roughly at right angles to the sun, then rotate the filter until the result looks natural. If the light or camera direction changes, revisit the setting; the effect changes with them.
