Urth 52mm Variable ND2 32 + CPL Filter Pro

Urth 52mm Variable ND2 32 + CPL Filter Pro | Control light and reflections

For bright daylight, this filter helps you reduce the light reaching your lens while managing reflections, so you can work towards a slower-shutter look without changing the scene. The Urth 52mm Variable ND2 32 + CPL Filter Pro combines variable neutral-density filtration from ND2 to ND32 with a CPL (circular polarising) filter. That gives you two kinds of control in one filter: adjust how much light is reduced, and use polarisation to reduce reflections from surfaces such as water or glass. It suits photographers and filmmakers using a lens with a 52mm filter thread who want more control in strong light, especially when reflections are distracting. The variable ND range is the main draw for exposure control; the CPL adds a separate option for handling reflected light. It’s a specific tool for shaping light, rather than a general-purpose protective filter.

A practical way to use it

Think of ND2 to ND32 as roughly one to five stops of light reduction. For example, if your exposure calls for 1/30 sec, the ND component at its strongest could bring that to about one second with aperture and ISO unchanged. That can help show movement in flowing water or passing clouds in daylight. The CPL works on a different problem: reflections. Its effect depends on the light and the angle you’re shooting from, so it won’t remove every reflection in every scene.
