Urth 67mm Magnetic CPL Filter Pro
Urth 67mm Magnetic CPL Filter Pro | Tame reflections and enrich skies
Reflections on water, glass or glossy leaves can draw attention away from the subject; a circular polarising filter can help reduce that glare and bring more depth to colour. The Urth 67mm Magnetic CPL Filter Pro is made for photographers who want more control over those bright reflections, particularly when shooting landscapes, buildings or scenes with water. Rotate the filter to adjust the polarising effect, watching the view as you turn it; the result depends on the angle of the light, so a small adjustment can make a visible difference. Its magnetic design is intended to make fitting and removing the filter quicker than a conventional screw-on approach, which is handy when conditions change or you want to shoot without the filter. It’s a focused tool for shaping reflections and sky colour, rather than an effect you’ll want in every frame.
Specialist Note
67mm is the filter diameter, so this is the size to look for when matching it to a lens’s filter thread. The magnetic fitting is the practical point I’d pay attention to: it makes switching the filter on or off quicker when you’re moving between a reflective scene and one where you want the lens unobstructed. For water or shop-window reflections, rotate the CPL while watching the image and stop when the glare is reduced without losing the look of the scene. It also suits landscapes where you want to adjust the appearance of a blue sky. One honest caveat: polarisation depends on the light’s angle, so the effect won’t be equally strong in every direction.
