Urth 77mm Essentials Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL ND8 ND1000)
Urth 77mm Essentials Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL ND8 ND1000) | Four filters for changing light
Bright midday light can make a slower shutter speed difficult; a polariser can also help manage reflections in a scene. The Urth 77mm Essentials Filter Kit Pro brings four filter types together: UV, CPL, ND8 and ND1000. The CPL is useful when you want to reduce reflections, while the two ND filters cut the light reaching the camera by different amounts. ND8 reduces exposure by three stops; ND1000 by ten, giving you more room to use slower shutter speeds in bright conditions. The UV filter adds another option for your filter setup. This kit is aimed at photographers whose lens has a 77mm filter thread and who want choices for varied light and reflective scenes. Its appeal is the range of filter designations in one kit, rather than a specialised filter for just one effect. The 77mm size is the key fit to get right.
Specialist Note
The 77mm filter size gives this kit a clear place in your setup: it’s for a lens with a matching 77mm filter thread. For moving water in daylight, the ND8’s three-stop reduction can help you slow the shutter; for a much longer exposure, the ND1000 cuts ten stops, so you can work with a far slower shutter when the light is strong. I’d consider this kit if you want both levels of light reduction alongside a CPL for reflections. One practical limit is that these filters are tied to that 77mm size, so they won’t directly fit a lens with a different filter thread.
