Urth 82mm Variable ND2 32 + ¼ Black Mist Filter Pro
Urth 82mm Variable ND2-32 + 1/4 Black Mist Filter Pro | Control exposure and soften highlights
The defining choice here is combining a variable ND filter with a 1/4 Black Mist effect in one 82mm filter. That pairing lets you adjust the light reaching the camera while keeping the mist effect in place, rather than swapping between separate filters as conditions or creative plans change. It’s aimed at photographers and filmmakers who want control over exposure and a softer, more atmospheric rendering in the same setup. The variable ND2-32 range is useful when bright conditions call for less light at the lens, while the Black Mist element adds a gentle diffusion character to highlights. That makes it especially suited to outdoor video, portraits with bright highlights, and scenes where you want a less clinical look without giving up exposure adjustment. The combined design has a clear trade-off: the mist effect stays part of the image whenever the filter is on.
Specialist Note
As the light changes, you can adjust the ND strength without taking the filter off, and the 1/4 Black Mist effect remains consistent. I’d recommend it to someone making outdoor video who wants to manage exposure and keep a softer highlight character in one setup. The ND2-32 range gives you room to respond as the scene gets brighter; the 1/4 strength adds a restrained mist look rather than asking you to choose a stronger effect. Its 82mm size is the key fit detail, so match that to the filter thread on your lens. One thing to keep in mind: if you want a completely clear, crisp image, you’ll need to remove the filter, since the mist effect is part of this combination.
