Urth Lens Mount Adapter: Compatible w/ Leica R Lens To Leica M Camera Body
Urth Lens Mount Adapter: Compatible w/ Leica R Lens To Leica M Camera Body | Use Leica R lenses on a Leica M body
Use a Leica R lens on a Leica M camera body, keeping that lens in your setup when you want to work with an M body. The Urth Lens Mount Adapter is specified for Leica R lenses and Leica M camera bodies. Its job is to connect those two mounts, so it suits photographers who already have a Leica R lens and want to use it on a Leica M body. The picture you can make depends on the lens you choose: select one for the framing and look you want, then mount it to the M body with this adapter. That makes the product’s appeal quite specific. It’s a way to bring an existing R lens into a setup built around an M camera, rather than leaving that lens aside. The adapter is a connecting accessory, not a lens in its own right.
Specialist Note
This adapter gives a Leica R lens a place on a Leica M body, instead of leaving that R lens out of your M setup. The useful distinction is right in the name: Leica R is the lens side, and Leica M is the camera-body side. I’d point it towards someone who already owns an R lens and wants to use that particular lens for portraits or landscapes on an M body. Choose the lens for the field of view you want, attach it through the adapter, and compose the scene around that view. It’s a focused solution for these two mounts, not a lens by itself.
