VAXIS Noga Arm 7'' 3/8
VAXIS Noga Arm 7'' 3/8 | Short-reach microphone positioning
When a microphone needs to sit just where you want it, a short positioning arm can help keep your setup tidy. The VAXIS Noga Arm 7'' 3/8 is a microphone accessory for shaping that close working position, whether you’re arranging a desk recording space or setting up a compact interview. Its seven-inch length points to a focused reach rather than a long span across a room. That makes it worth considering when the microphone needs to sit near its support point, without bringing a larger arm into the setup. The 3/8 designation is also useful when planning the connection: it gives you a specific format to match against the point you intend to attach it to. Keep the goal simple—place the microphone where it’s easy to speak into, then arrange the rest of the setup around that position.
Planning your microphone position
Think about the microphone’s intended position before arranging cables, screens or other desk equipment around it. For a seated voice recording, plan a clear path from the support point to the speaking position; for a small interview setup, leave room for the person speaking to sit comfortably. This arm is aimed at close placement, so it’s most relevant when you don’t need to bridge a large gap. A little forethought can help avoid rearranging the whole workspace just to move the microphone.
Specialist Note
That seven-inch reach gives the Noga Arm a compact working range, which is handy when you want a microphone close to a desk position without planning for a long extension. I’d consider it for a seated voice recording or a small interview setup: decide where the speaker will sit, then position the support so the microphone can be brought into that spot. The 3/8 designation is the detail to match with the attachment point in your setup, so check that before building around it. Its short reach is also a genuine limitation; it’s better suited to close placement than spanning a broad space.
