Westcott Easy Boom

Westcott Easy Boom | A boom accessory for lamp setups

Westcott Easy Boom is a boom accessory in the lamp stand and clamp category, made for photographers who need a boom as part of a lighting setup. Its name is refreshingly direct: this is the Easy Boom, rather than a light source or a camera support. A boom can help place a lamp where a stand alone would be in the way, which is useful when you’re arranging light around a subject or a set. The product suits studio users and anyone putting together a lamp setup that calls for a boom. There’s no need to read more into the name than that. If you’re choosing lighting accessories, start with the job you need the boom to do, then consider how it fits into your existing setup.

In practice, a boom is most relevant when the position of the lamp matters to the composition. It can give you a way to think beyond placing the light directly beside the stand, for example when you’re working above a scene or keeping a support out of the camera’s view. Those are common reasons to use a boom; the exact placement depends on your space and the lighting arrangement you’re building. The Easy Boom’s category makes it a lighting-support accessory, so it belongs in that part of your kit rather than among camera-specific accessories. One honest point: the product name alone doesn’t tell you the boom’s reach or load capacity. If those measurements determine whether it suits your setup, ask us before choosing. Otherwise, this is a straightforward product name for a straightforward role in a lighting setup.
