Wimberley AP-600 - A low-profile Arca-type lens foot

The low-profile shape of the Wimberley AP-600 brings a compatible Canon 600mm f/4 IS III lens closer to the tripod head, improving balance and reducing flex and vibration. Made from black-anodised 6061 aluminium, this replacement foot is for wildlife and bird photographers who use that lens on a tripod. Its Arca-type profile fits a compatible clamp, while the double dovetail rail accepts accessories from either the top or bottom of the foot. That gives you a direct way to position compatible accessories alongside the lens support, rather than relying on a single mounting face. The foot also has 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded sockets, so it can attach to tripod heads that use those screw sizes instead of an Arca-type clamp. For long-lens work, the lower mounting position is the key difference from the foot supplied with the lens: it puts the support point closer to the lens and limits movement at the connection. The included safety stops add a further safeguard against the lens sliding out if a clamp is only partly closed. It's a purpose-specific upgrade for stable tripod support, with the mounting options and fittings clearly built around this lens.
