XEEN 14mm T3.1 FF Cine Nikon | Expansive views for cinematic framing

Wide scenes fit into the frame, giving filmmakers room to show the setting around their subject. The XEEN 14mm T3.1 FF Cine Nikon is an interchangeable ultra-wide prime lens for video and filmmaking, made for full-frame coverage and Nikon cameras. Its 114° angle of view is useful when a location feels too tight for a conventional shot: you can include more of an interior, landscape or action in one composition. Manual focus gives you direct control over where attention falls, which suits planned camera moves and carefully set-up shots. It’s a focused tool for filmmakers who want an expansive view and are comfortable setting focus themselves. In a close composition, the broad perspective can make nearby objects feel especially prominent, so framing and subject placement matter. Used with intention, that perspective can give a scene a strong sense of space.

Specialist Note

T3.1 gives you a practical exposure reference when light is limited or changing, while keeping manual exposure decisions in your hands. At 14mm, the frame takes in a great deal of the scene; for an interior establishing shot, try setting the camera near a doorway and include a foreground detail to lead the viewer into the room. It also suits wide landscape shots where the surroundings are part of the story. I’d recommend it to filmmakers who like to compose deliberately and pull focus themselves. One thing to watch: objects close to the lens can become visually dominant, so give your subject some breathing room when that isn’t the effect you want.
