Zhiyun Smooth 5E - Grey

Zhiyun Smooth 5E - Grey | Steadier video as you move

Its purpose is clear: the Zhiyun Smooth 5E is a gimbal stabiliser for video made while you’re moving, rather than a general camera support. It’s best suited to people who want smoother walking shots, vlog while on the move, or record video away from a fixed position. If your clips often include you walking and talking, or following a moving moment, a gimbal is designed for this kind of filming. The Smooth 5E is a focused option for those situations, with a grey finish. It may suit a creator who films regularly on the go, as well as someone who wants to make everyday moving footage less distracting to watch. Think of it as a tool for video with movement in it: its clearest benefit is when you’re filming as you go, rather than setting up a static shot.

Where it fits

Consider the kind of clips you make most. Walking footage and vlogging are specifically suited to this gimbal, so it makes sense when moving video is a regular part of your filming. For a vlog, keep your framing on the story or subject as you move; for a walking shot, use a deliberate pace and let the stabiliser do its intended job. If most of your video is filmed from a fixed position, its main benefit may matter less to you. That’s a useful distinction to make before choosing a gimbal: the Smooth 5E is most relevant when the camera is in motion.
