3 Legged Thing QR Ultra 200mm X 38mm Arca Compatible Long Plate Matte Black | A longer base for tripod setups

For a tripod setup that needs a longer mounting base, the 3 Legged Thing QR Ultra 200mm X 38mm Arca Compatible Long Plate Matte Black gives you a 200mm-long plate in an Arca-compatible format. That extra length is the point: it offers more plate to work with when a shorter base doesn’t give your camera setup enough room. It suits photographers already building around an Arca-compatible tripod clamp, especially when they want a longer support surface beneath a camera or rig. The plate is best for situations where the mounting footprint needs to extend along the setup, rather than for a kit where every part has to be as small as possible. Use it as the connection between your camera setup and tripod head, within the Arca-compatible system you use. It’s a specific solution for a longer mounting base, not a general tripod upgrade.

Specialist Note

The 38mm width gives this plate a defined footprint across its face, while the matte-black finish keeps it visually low-key in a camera setup. I’d consider it for a landscape arrangement where the camera’s position needs more room along the base, or for a rig whose support point needs to sit away from the clamp’s centre. Set the camera’s mounting point where you need it, if the plate’s mounting arrangement allows that positioning. One practical trade-off: a long plate takes more room in your bag than a short one. It makes most sense alongside an Arca-compatible clamp, so the plate and head work within the same fitting system.
