7Artisans 62mm MRCUV Filter
7Artisans 62mm MRCUV Filter | Straightforward UV filtration
Without a UV filter, there’s no dedicated filter in front of the lens to screen ultraviolet light. The 7Artisans 62mm MRCUV Filter is a straightforward option for photographers who want UV filtration in a 62mm size. UV filters are commonly used outdoors, where distant scenery and atmospheric haze can soften contrast; this filter’s purpose is to screen UV light. The key practical detail is the size: it’s intended for a lens with a matching 62mm filter thread, so look for that marking on the lens. That makes it relevant to landscape and travel photographers working in daylight, particularly when distant views are part of the frame. It’s a specific tool for UV filtration, rather than a filter for controlling reflections or changing the look of the sky.
Choosing the 62mm size
Filter sizes refer to the lens’s filter thread, not the camera body. Find the 62mm marking on the lens and match it to this filter. If you use lenses with different thread sizes, this filter’s stated size applies to the one marked 62mm.
Specialist Note
“Is the 7Artisans 62mm MRCUV Filter for a lens marked 62mm? Yes—match that size at the lens’s filter thread, and you have a UV filter for that lens. I’d consider it for daylight landscapes or travel scenes with distant detail, where UV filtration is the point of using this filter. The 62mm size makes the fit question quite clear; it doesn’t tell you which camera system you use, so focus on the lens marking. One limitation to keep in mind: UV filtration won’t control reflections or deepen a blue sky like a polarising filter can. This is a focused, no-fuss option for the job named in its title.”
