7Artisans 65mm T2.9 Infinite Full Frame Canon RF | A manual-focus prime for cinematic framing

The 7Artisans 65mm T2.9 Infinite is a full-frame cinema prime with a fast T2.9 maximum aperture, built for filmmakers using Canon RF cameras. Its 65mm focal length gives dialogue, portrait and detail shots a considered, close perspective, while the 37° angle of view helps keep the frame focused on your subject. This is a manual-focus lens, so it suits people who want to set focus deliberately or make controlled focus changes while filming. As a standard prime, it has one fixed focal length rather than a zoom range; you compose by moving the camera or changing the shot. The T2.9 aperture is useful when you want to work with less light or keep more control over exposure. Choose it for narrative filmmaking, interviews or carefully framed video where a purposeful, steady shot matters more than changing framing quickly.

Specialist Note

In a quiet interview room, the 65mm framing gives the speaker space to fill the shot without making the picture feel wide. I’d consider this lens for filmed conversations, character portraits or close details where you can take time over the composition. Its T2.9 maximum aperture gives you room to keep filming as the light drops, though your exposure still depends on the rest of your setup. The full-frame format suits a full-frame Canon RF camera when you want that 65mm view; on a Canon RF-S body, it frames like roughly 104mm, so allow more distance from your subject. Manual focus rewards a considered setup, but it’s less suited to fast, unpredictable action.
